Moved by her reflection, I asked her: “What do you mean by ‘in himself’?” She said: “I can hear by what and how he sings that he knows why he is here, what he’s alive for, and what he cares about most in life. I love that, don’t you?! I think that’s why we love listening to him sing. It reminds us about what we are all alive for.” I nodded, stunned by her clarity and her heart, and then praised her for her astute observation and deep listening.
It’s so uplifting and confirming when these children share the place they are receiving life from; expose the heartful filters through which they are listening to our world; gratefully receiving creative expressions of consciousness. What beauty this is~ for a 10 year old girl to see "being deeply IN" one’s Self; knowing why one is here, clear expressions of what we are alive for~ as being qualities to appreciate, reflect upon, praise and inspire in one another.
Not only does this make my heart swell for my sweet amazing girl, it gives me sincere hope for the world: these are our future leaders, right here, sitting next to us in the passenger seats of our cars listening very carefully to the music we are playing; inhaling, absorbing like sacred sponges whatever we find useful and poignant to share with them. May we be worthy of the honor and serve them well.
