REST

Speechless before you,
Holy Mother,
there is a humbled
tumbling in
to your spacious lap
of quiet welcome.

Empty-handed once again,
without a thing
to offer you,
I offer you myself~

This open, aching heart,
this faithful body
of weary bones
and seasoned bows,
this precious face
of telling lines
and honest light,
this fumbling mind
of flaw and flight.

I offer you my soul,
tenderly disenchanted now
with the search
for anything other
than what is here.

Like this, I am offered
and now received by you,
so simply, as I am.

Listen closely, I am
listening closely
to your merciful silence
that sings and shines
eternally from the center
of this only moment.

I am finding rest in you.
I am finding Life.
